To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to the Answer of 23 January 2015 to Question 221072, if he will conduct a survey of the practice of clinical commissioning groups in respect of capping the total number of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies treatment sessions they offer.

There is no cap on the number of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) sessions for each person. We expect IAPT service providers to have due regard for National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines. Information on the number of therapy sessions delivered through IAPT will be available from April 2015. This will include a monthly report on the maximum, minimum and average number of sessions for each completed episode.
