Ministry of Defence written question – answered on 4th February 2015.
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 12 January 2015 to Question 220012, how many RAF personnel are deployed in Afghanistan; and what the (a) rank, (b) squadron and (c) function is of each RAF officer stationed in that country.
As at 2 February 2015 there were 19 RAF personnel in Afghanistan. The rank and function of each are shown below. Only those supporting the Op TORAL Aviation Detachment are deployed as part of a formed unit, which in this case is 27 Squadron from RAF Odiham.
