To ask Her Majesty’s Government what special measures are in place to encourage more males to train as primary school teachers.
We value diversity in the workforce and want to attract high quality teachers. Recent figures show that 13% of teachers in publicly funded primary schools in England are male. However, the proportion of males starting primary initial teacher training programmes in 2014/15 is 21%.
