To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is the reasoning behind the sums promised to each flood defence project.

The Government’s capital funding for flood and coastal erosion risk management projects is based on the economic benefits of schemes in terms of the damages of flooding or coastal erosion avoided and the number of households better protected. The funding formula used can be found on the GOV.UK website.
