Department of Health written question – answered on 16th December 2014.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate he has made of the proportion of the Gypsy and Traveller community who have received immunisations recommended by the NHS.
Information on the uptake of vaccines among the Gypsy and Traveller community is not routinely collected.
In May 2013 the Journal of Public Health published a paper submitted by Public Health England entitled ‘Mapping the Gypsy Traveller community in England: what we know about their health service provision and childhood immunisation uptake’. A copy is attached.
