To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many desks are in his Department's main building; how many such desks are (a) owned and (b) leased by his Department; and what the cost is per desk of leasing.
There are 2541 desks in 1 Horse Guards Road, of which HM Treasury occupies 1198 desks. The other 1343 are occupied by other Government Departments. All the desks are owned by the Department.
