Ministry of Justice written question – answered on 20th October 2014.
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to the Answer of 19 January 2010 to Question 311921, what recent reports he has received about the progress of the Solicitors Regulation Authority investigation into Burges Salmon LLP.
The legal profession is independent of Government and is regulated by approved regulators for which the Legal Services Board (LSB) has oversight responsibility. Complaints about the professional misconduct of solicitors are a matter for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). As such, I cannot comment on individual cases. I am informed that the SRA concluded its investigations in this matter in 2010 and subsequently published its findings.
