To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to reduce the level of VAT on kerosene home heating oil; and if he will make a statement.
Kerosene used as a domestic heating fuel is already subject to a reduced rate of VAT at 5%, which is the lowest rate the UK can apply under EU law.
