To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what recent assessment she has made of which countries are most at risk from deforestation.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation estimates that globally around 13 million hectares of forests were cleared each year between 2000 and 2010. Countries where major rainforest clearance took place from 2005-10 include Brazil, Indonesia and Nigeria.
