To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans his Department has to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First Battle of the Marne between 5 and 12 September 2014.

The Battle of the Marne is not part of the UK national programme for the First World War Centenary commemorations. We are in regular contact with the French Government regarding centenary commemorations, and will be guided by their plans to commemorate the Battle of the Marne, supporting them as appropriate.
