We must do everything we can to support vulnerable witnesses and help them give their best possible evidence to bring offenders to justice. The Ministry of Justice is actively looking at ways to increase the provision and uptake of special measures, in particular the use of registered intermediaries, to help vulnerable witnesses give their best evidence in court. Since 2009, 98% of requests for a registered intermediary have been matched by the Witness Intermediary Service.
