To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many F-35s his Department plans to purchase under its Joint Equipment Programme.

The overall number of F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft to be purchased, as part of the UK's overall combat air capability, will not be determined before the next Strategic Defence and Security Review in 2015 at the earliest.
