To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions (a) he and (b) his ministerial colleagues have had with their Turkish counterparts on efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement in Cyprus in respect of issues relating to the port of Famagusta.

The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague), and myself regularly discuss Cyprus with their Turkish counterparts. In my recent visit to Turkey, I discussed Cyprus with Ambassador Sinirlioglu, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkey. All ministerial discussions with the parties and EU member states are aimed at achieving a comprehensive settlement, including on the issue of the Varosha area of Famagusta.
