To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many people were employed on a daily fees basis to investigate service complaints in each year since 2010; how many days on average each such person was employed in 2010; what the average cost of employing such individuals was; and if he will make a statement.

In 2010 and 2011, there was no centralised system in place to capture such data. We do not, therefore, hold information covering these years. Data for 2012 and 2013 are currently being collated and will be published shortly in the Service Complaints Commissioner's 2013 Annual Report.
