To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what his policy is on an independent investigation into human rights abuses in Burma. [R]
It is the Government's position that allegations of human rights abuses must be dealt with immediately through a credible, independent and transparent investigative and prosecutorial process that meets international standards. We have made our views clear to the Burmese Government and will continue to do so.
