Health written question – answered on 25th February 2014.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many and what proportion of patients with depression were given mindfulness-based therapies in each primary care trust area in England in the last year for which figures are available.
Currently we not collect data on the proportion of patients with depression who were given mindfulness-based therapies. However, from July 2014 the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Data Standard will be expanded to include mindfulness as a delivered therapy type.
Data on the number of sessions of Mindfulness delivered by IAPT services will be held by the NHS Health and Social Care Information Centre.
