To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many new posts have been created in his Department since May 2010; and what the cost of recruitment to those posts was.

The Department's systems do not hold data at a level that allow us to identify which of the posts we have recruited into were new. Additionally the department does not capture the overall cost of recruitment, only advertising costs (where this applies). Therefore this information could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
