To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proportion of applications made to the appeals service for parking on private land have related to parking charge notices in hospital car parks; and what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Health on the issues raised in such applications.

Information on numbers of parking charge notices issued in hospital car parks is not held centrally. The independent appeals service Parking on Private Land Appeals (PoPLA) issues an annual report which contains information on overall numbers of parking charge notices issued and which is available at:

The Secretary of State for Transport, my right hon. Friend Mr McLoughlin, has not had any discussions with the Secretary of State for Health, my right hon. Friend Mr Hunt, on issues raised in appeals to PoPLA related to parking in hospital car parks.
