To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what assessment his Department has made of fraudulent websites mimicking HM Revenue and Customs tax return services; and whether HM Revenue and Customs has any procedure for making the public aware of potential scams.
HMRC takes customer confidence in their online services very seriously. Ministers have asked a cross-government group, at which HMRC is a participant, to work with industry experts to mitigate the risks posed by copycat websites to our customers.
