House of Lords written question – answered on 25th February 2014.
To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Verma on 3 February (WA 7), whether they will now answer the question.
DECC Ministers regularly meet with energy supply companies to discuss a range of energy issues. Electricity prices for household consumers are a commercial matter for the companies concerned. Therefore, it would not be appropriate for Government to intervene in the setting of electricity price paid by customers who are not on dual fuel because they do not have access to the gas grid.
