To ask Her Majesty’s Government what steps they are taking to ensure that the New Environmental Land Management Scheme will be targeted towards maintaining and strengthening landscape character in the wider countryside and in National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Final decisions on priorities for funding landscape character and other objectives of the new environmental land management scheme have yet to be taken. However, the targeting framework being developed for the new scheme includes data from national character area assessments and from valued landscapes such as national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty and heritage coasts.
