To ask Her Majesty’s Government what was the total number of asylum applications that were undecided after 12 months, on the most recent date for which figures are available.

At the end of November 2013, 4,886 asylum applications were pending an initial decision after 12 months. Of these, 3,634 were for main applicants.

The figures provided are a subset of latest published statistics for applications received for asylum since April 2006 and published by the Home Office on a monthly basis. A copy of the latest release Monthly Asylum Applications November 2013 is available from:
