To ask the Deputy Prime Minister pursuant to the answer of 21 January 2014, Official Report, columns 181-2W, on electoral register, if he will make it his policy to collect data intended to improve efficiency in registration of electors.
The Electoral Commission is responsible for the collection and evaluation of data about the cost of electoral registration, as well as data on the performance of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). The Government is already working with the Commission and EROs, and electoral administrators, to ensure that costs and efficiencies, including the potential impact of online registration, can be understood in the context of the transition to IER.
