To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the average duration of single periods of sick leave taken by staff in each HM Revenue and Customs business stream was in each of the last five years.
In every business stream the average duration of single periods of sickness absence has fallen. The overall fall from 6.86 to 5.77 is a drop of 15.89%
Comparable data are not available for the earliest two years. The average duration in days of single periods of sickness absence taken by staff in each HM Revenue and Customs business stream in each of the last three years was:
