To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much his Department spent on the seasonal influenza vaccination public awareness campaign for 2013-14, by category of expenditure.

Responsibility for the seasonal influenza vaccination public awareness campaign moved to Public Health England on 1 April 2013 along with the other departmental public health campaigns.

To date, expenditure on seasonal flu advertising in 2013-14, aimed at increasing uptake of the flu vaccine among the most at risk groups, has totalled £481,041. This figure includes media expenditure (press, radio, magazines, online display, search and pharmacy bags).
