To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what representations he has received from construction companies about delays to the tendering process for the Thames Tideway Tunnel; and what steps he is taking to expedite that process. [R]
To date, we have not received any representations from construction companies. In a large and complex project like the Thames Tideway Tunnel, it is important that we and Thames Water take the appropriate time to ensure that this procurement and the wider context of the delivery mechanism for the project will offer value for money for taxpayers and customers.
