Any customer can opt to get a meter fitted free of charge from their company. We want companies to do more to promote metering to those who would benefit, but some struggling customers would see their bills rise. The Government do not take a blanket approach because circumstances are very different in different regions. Instead, particular attention is focused on areas of serious water stress.
