To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they have any plans to conduct an assessment of the impact on the insurance of property of the recent flooding; and, if so, whether they will publish details of that assessment.

Evidence-based policy is important to this Government. We have already undertaken monitoring with regard to the availability and cost of household flood insurance for properties located in high flood risk areas in preparation for the industry backed solution to the availability of flood insurance (known as Flood Re), so there are no plans to conduct a specific assessment of the impact on insurance of property affected by the recent flooding.
