Culture Media and Sport written question – answered on 15th January 2014.
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what weighting her Department's procurement procedures give to (a) the location of a company and its workforce, (b) the extent to which a company has a strong environmental record, (c) whether the company is a social enterprise and (d) other company history prior performance.
Under current Department procurement policies all relevant contracts are awarded to ensure it obtains the most economically advantageous tender. Within that assessment a range of criteria can be used when deciding upon bids that encompass when required different elements ranging from past performance to environmental credentials, however these will be dependent upon the services being requested.
