To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the cost to his Department of the Work Programme has been from June 2011 to date.
The total paid to Work Programme Providers in the UK is £1,047 million from the start of the programme through to 30 September 2013, the period covered by the December 2013 Statistical Release.
The majority of payments to Work Programme Providers are 'payment by results' for job outcomes and job sustainments.
