We are joint-funding, with the Department for Communities and Local Government, the First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours Project. This project provides the opportunity for a minimum of two pupils and one teacher from every state funded secondary school in England to visit battlefields and other notable sites and to take part in remembrance ceremonies on the Western Front. The project is currently being piloted and the tours will commence in spring 2014. Participating schools will share what they learn with their local communities.
