Ministry of Defence expenditure on military aviation collaboration projects for each of the last two financial years (FY) is shown in the following table, rounded to the nearest million pounds. The expenditure includes airframes, engines and other systems intrinsic to the aircraft. It does not include airborne weapons fitted to aircraft.

£ million1
  Expenditure per financial year
Aviation collaboration projects 2011-12 2012-13
EU 2,466 1,617
Non-EU (including US) 19 27
US 375 251
1 Rounded to nearest million pounds.

The UK is not engaged in any military aviation collaborative projects with only non-EU countries and excluding the USA. One project includes a collaboration of EU, non-EU countries and the US. This explains the cost in the ‘Non-EU' category above.
