To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he is taking to enable holders of basic bank accounts to switch providers.

The Government are committed to improving access to financial services for individuals.

A new current account switching service was launched in September last year. The service allows customers to switch their current account safely, simply, and within seven working days.
