To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been listed as an immigration or asylum absconder in each of the last five years.

The number of people listed as an immigration or asylum absconder in each of the last six years can be found in the following table.

Notes: 1. The data relates to the number of people whom absconded by calendar year. 2. Many of these people have subsequently been encountered and are no longer absconders. 3. The figures provided are sourced from a Home Office management information system which is not quality assured under National Statistics protocols and is subject to change due to internal data quality checking.
