To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what steps he is taking to prevent travel companies significantly raising prices during school holidays.
This Department is taking no steps to influence the price at which businesses choose to offer their services; that is a commercial matter for each business. Pricing in the leisure travel market reflects peaks and troughs in demand it experiences over the course of a year, and the need to attract consumers in a very competitive market.
