To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he is taking to allow the insurance industry greater access to data that would allow insurance companies to validate an individual's (a) identification and (b) claims history.
The Government has no plans to increase insurer's access to customer data for identification or claims history. There are multiple commercial operators and industry-led initiatives which fulfil this function.
