The House of Commons Commission agreed in July 2012 that proposals should be developed to extend banqueting and events facilities for hire by appropriate third parties when the House is not sitting without the need for sponsorship and attendance by a Member of Parliament, and that such commercial hire of House of Commons facilities should be conducted as a two-year trial under the guidance of the Administration Committee. Bookings will be accepted from October 2013 with the first events from December 2013.
