To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many UK citizens are being detained illegally in the Dominican Republic.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is aware of 12 British citizens currently detained in the Dominican Republic following conviction. We are actively seeking clarification from the authorities in the Dominican Republican regarding the continued detention, of one other British national.
