To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many posts in his Department have been relocated from London to each other region in each of the last 10 years.
In line with the recommendations of the Lyons Review of Public Sector Relocation published in 2004, the Department reviewed activities undertaken in London and the South East regions. As a result, 1,170 posts were transferred from London to other regions, out of an overall total 4,069 posts relocated from London and the South East. This programme was completed in 2008-09 and no further relocation programmes have been undertaken since.
