To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many staff (a) directly employed and (b) indirectly employed through other companies by his Department were employed on zero-hours contracts in each of the last 10 years.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has had two directly employed staff on zero-hour contracts since the Department was established in May 2006. More information is available in my answer of 2 July 2013, Hansard, column 535W.

The Department does not hold the information on indirectly employed staff through other companies.
