Treasury written question – answered on 12th September 2013.
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what HM Revenue and Customs' total yield in each area of its activity (a) was in each year since 2010-11 and (b) is targeted to be in each year between 2013-14 and 2015-16.
The additional revenues collected from compliance activities by HM Revenue and Customs for each year since 2010-11 is as follows;
£ billion | |||
2010-11(1) | 2011-12 | 2012-13 | |
Personal Tax | n/a | 12.2 | 0.9 |
Business Tax | n/a | 5.6 | 6.1 |
Enforcement and Compliance | n/a | 0.8 | 13.7 |
Total additional revenues | 13.9 | 18.6 | 20.7 |
(1) The methodology for calculating additional revenue collected from compliance activity changed between 2010-11 and 2011-12, and so the figure of £13.9 billion is not directly comparable to later years. HMRC is committed to delivering an extra £9 billion a year by 2014-15 and is on track. |
