To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many jobs created in Scotland since 2010 are in the manufacturing sector.
The Office for National Statistics publishes data on total workforce jobs broken down by the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC 2007). When this coalition Government came into power in 2010 employment was at 2,602,000, with manufacturing employment making up 187,000. The records from June 2013 put employment at 2,643,000, with manufacturing increasing to 202,000. A total increase of 15,000.
