Justice written question – answered on 12th September 2013.
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many cases were pursued in UK courts under the Human Rights Act 1998 in the last year; how many such cases were pursued by (a) prisoners and (b) foreign nationals; and how many of those cases were successful.
A claim under the Human Rights Act 1998 could arise in any proceedings before a court or tribunal, in addition to stand alone claims. No information is collected on such claims and therefore the information requested is not available.
