To ask the Attorney-General how much the Government legal service has spent on severance costs for departing members of staff in each year since 2010-11.

The Government Legal Service (GLS) is not a Government department and does not employ anyone. The GLS is the term used to describe approximately 2,000 employees in the legal teams of 30 Departments of State, regulatory bodies and other Government organisations, who are each separately responsible for any costs incurred.
