To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what plans have been put forward by applicant companies seeking licences to operate hydraulic fracturing platforms for gas for the long term management, decontamination or disposal of radioactively contaminated scale on pipes and storage tanks used for fracked gases.
There are well established commercial arrangements in place, developed initially for the offshore oil and gas sector, where such equipment can be descaled, put back into service or recycled.
