To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the potential cost to the UK of EU directives establishing a Single European Railway Area; and if he will make a statement.

All domestic legislation transposing European requirements is accompanied by an impact assessment which sets out the benefits and costs to the UK. There are a number of instruments which relate to transposition of the EU directives establishing the Single European Railway Area and the related impact assessments are available from the website:
