Education written question – answered on 9th September 2013.
To ask the Secretary of State for Education what steps he is taking to improve the quality of apprenticeships.
We have already raised the quality of Apprenticeships by making them real jobs; introducing minimum durations; identifying and rooting out poor quality delivery; and insisting on more stretching qualifications in English and maths.
Further reforms, following the Richard Review on the future of Apprenticeships, will ensure that apprenticeships will be more rigorous and more employer-led. A detailed implementation plan will be published shortly.
