To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many overseas nationals were registered as a nurse in the NHS in each of the last five years.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) collects data on the number of registrations to the NMC register. The following table shows the number of nurses from overseas and the European economic area registered as nurses in the national health service in each of the last 10 years:
