To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much revenue the Exchequer has raised through income tax from pensioners in each of the last five years.
Estimates for the number of taxpayers of state pension age and their income tax liabilities for the years 2009-10 to 2013-14 are shown in the following table:
