To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what progress her Department has made on introducing a national library card.

Arts Council England are currently testing automatic library membership for children and young people cards. There are 22 pilot projects across England and the aspiration is that it will lead to an increase in children, young people and families using their local libraries and stimulate more reading for pleasure.
